Halloween & Mama's Birthday!

Wow are we so blessed to have a friend who takes amazing photographs! We got a chance to capture some of our family moments and a ton of Grace at this amazingly adorable stage of life. Here are a couple of our favorites of our family and Grace. There were seriously dozens that I could have posted, but I tried to limit myself. hehe

We got an e-mail this week from Grace's friend Fletcher's mom saying that they were carving a giant pumpkin to stick Fletch in and that we were more then welcome to bring Grace over.... of course we said YES! Who wouldn't want to stick their kid in a pumpkin? We took a lot of screaming pictures to get these two amazing ones, but we had a really great time laughing with friends.

Officially  Halloween. Grace went as a bumble bee and Mommy went as a "mama bee keeper" and Daddy went as a "daddy bee keeper" We went to Park West Village which is a shopping plaza by our house. Each of the stores had candy for trick or treating. It was perfect for Grace because we got to go into each store and warm up! Uncle Taylor was able to come with us and so were some of our friends!

It was also Mama's birthday this week. The big 27!!! We continued our family tradition of bagels with egg and cheese in the morning on the "you are special today" plate and putting up our Christmas tree in the afternoon! Grace says "woah, woah, woah" We also put out a little fisher price nativity scene. Grace loves to play with all the little characters. Her favorite thing to do is hold the pieces over the edge of the table, say "uh oh" and then drop them. I think she gets the concept of the uh oh now! We just need to work on that uh oh comes AFTER something drops, not before. hehe

Sweet Grace,
Uncle Taylor got the best birthday gift for Mommy ever! A whole wall of Grace! We have been looking for something to put on the wall behind the couch and I love, love, love it! Sweet girl you are starting to move so fast! You can now walk all over the place. You have gotten up a couple times by yourself in the middle of the room, but you are still much more comfortable with pulling up. I just find you amazing.
All my love

Green Acres & Halloween Party

It was a big week in the Mac household! We started our halloween festivities and Grace started WALKING!!! So much fun and love this week.

Grace still falls asleep on the floor sometimes and we have to go in and move her back to her bed. She is so sleepy when we move her she never really wakes up. Daddy loves holding her while she sleeps. If Mommy wants a turn, I have to sneak in the room when Daddy isn't watching! hehe. We will miss this nightly ritual when she starts falling asleep in her room!

Such a big girl! She eats snack at her picnic table. She is really working on balance!

This was the first of our two halloween costumes this year! Grace is a fairy. We had a party at the Little Gym, Grace's gymnastics place. It was so fun to see all the kids dressed up and to have a place to go show off her outfit! She hated the hat so we went ahead and put her hair up for the actual gig.

We met up with Auntie Jen at Green Acres Farm on Saturday! Last year Grace was only 11 days old when we went to the farm. This year we got to look at the pumpkins, go on a hayride, and we even went through the corn maze! We found all the numbers 1-5 before it started raining. It was really fun!

We had some fun playing in the front yard before it got really cold! Grace loved checking out the leaves and sticks. We also decorated the front porch for halloween night.

It was so amazing to see the difference between Grace in a year! I can't believe she is walking now. Well I can believe it, but it is still amazing to see it happen. She is just growing so fast!

Sweet Gracie Girl,
You were such a cute fairy this week and so big at the pumpkin patch! I am so glad I got to spend another week being your Mommy! This week we also started "time outs" you are not allowed to play in the dog water bowl or go out the doggie door. When you do, you sit in time out for 1 minute. Usually you scream, which is the whole point, but then as soon as you get out you go back to playing no problems! Hopefully you will quickly learn to stay away from things that are not safe!!
We will love you until the stars turn to daisies and the dogs all start to moo!

Slowing Down

There are still so many great memories surrounding Grace's 1st birthday. I know I already mentioned how thankful we were that Great Grandmommy got to come visit with us on her special day, but I wanted to post a couple more pictures that I just love! Grace was so fascinated by all of Grandmommy's jewelry. Her awesome pink ribbon pin and her V necklace. They were favorites for sure!

This week after the flury of last week pictures we decided to take practically no pictures at all! I laughed this morning when I uploaded my camera and only found 4 pictures, none of which are really great pictures... and almost all Grace helping me clean! We did have a great and busy week but we really just enjoyed living and I forgot to photograph it all. The quick run down for the week.

1. Went to the doctors. Grace is 18 lbs 10 oz and 28 inches tall. She falls in the 10% for weight, no surprise and the 20% for height!

2. Grace took 2 steps! She has now taken 2 steps a couple of different times. Today was actually the most obvious as she took 2 steps into the middle of the room, stopped, bent down and picked something up then sat down gently with it! YAY no big fall at the end!

Ok I told you the pictures weren't great quality! Here is a cute video I took the other day waiting for Daddy to get home. Its so cute because she knows when I open the door after nap it must be time for him to arrive. I don't even say anything, I just open the door and she goes over and starts saying "da da da da"

Sweet Grace,
I can't believe you are so close to walking! It is amazing to watch you become more confident. You have the balance and the mobility to do it, now you just need the courage. I love you sweet girl. Some of my favorite days are just you and me at home watching you explore and play. You now have total access to the entire house (minus the bedrooms/bathrooms which are closed off) and you go everywhere and look at everything! We even opened the couches up so you can get to the playroom through the living room now and you LOVE that. If Daddy is in one room and I am in the other, you go back and forth around and around. It is so cute! I love you all the fish in the sea times all the stars in the sky. You are my sunshine.
