Snow and Daffodils

What crazy weather we are having in North Carolina! We had our first snow and it was beautiful. There was just enough to stick, but the next day it was all melted away. My favorite kind of snow, the kind that does not require shoveling! Grace once again got a chance to view it from the inside, but Mommy is not quite ready to stick her in the snow. Maybe next winter when she can sit up on her own.

My beautiful sleeping baby. This is a picture of our video monitor. I just love how she is rolling herself onto her side and sucking her thumb while she sleeps. She looks so peaceful.
Spoons glorious spoons! Grace is 4 1/2 months old now. When she is 5 1/2 months we will start attempting solid foods. Before getting there I heard a great suggestion to have your baby play with the spoons. That way when Grace start solid foods she will not be distracted by the spoons because she will have already become used to them. She sure loved chomping away at them. They make a funny squeaky noise when they are in her mouth.

Saturday night Mommy went out for a "Moms Night Out". Daddy stayed home with Grace and look at that - Grace can actually feed herself! haha. It's too bad she is usually a breast feed baby, no bottles. It looks like she would really enjoy them.
So now for the daffodil part of this post. We had mulch delivered this week. Daddy and Mommy spent many of Grace's naps out in the yard putting out mulch. It looks great! Notice too how the snow is gone and the sun is out! I believe that it actually reached 75 degrees later in the week! CRAZY!! Mommy much prefers the warmer weather.

Mommy has also been doing a lot of crafting this week. I made an easter egg garland out of paint chips. I am also using mod podge to recycle a large G that Gabe had in his room as a child. Soon it will be the perfect G to hang in a little girl room. Someday she will learn how her Grandpa made is special for her Daddy and now it is made special for her.

My little girl, each day you grow I get to know you more and more and I absolutely love what I see. You are so interested in life and so willing to explore new things. You amaze me baby girl. We love you with all our hearts.

Mimi and J-pa!

What a wonderful week. We had a great visit with Mimi and J-pa. It was so wonderful to have them here for an entire week! Grace and I can't wait for them to move here already! Here is my baby playing in her playroom.

We got some great pictures outside. The weather has been crazy. It was so nice we were outside in short sleeves and then last night it actually snowed! Mommy is ready for it to be spring already. We can skip this whole "winter" season. Bathing suits and sun tans here we come!

We also went to Duke this week for Grace's follow up appointment. The doctor said that Grace's hemangiomas are looking GREAT! She is so pleased with the progress that she wants us to keep using the timolol, the topical ointment for another two months and then go back for another check. We are so happy that the blood pressure medicine is not an option at this time and she has another two months to grow and develop before that is an option again. God truly is good. =)

On Valentine's Day Daddy brought his girls home some beautiful flowers. Can you tell which one is Grace's and which one is Mommy's? I think this is a beautiful Valentine's Day tradition.

Grace and Bean are chilling on the couch watching some Barney. Yes that is right, after Mimi and J-pa left Sunday we needed some relax time so we all watched Barney sing songs. She was quite attentive!

And of course, had to include some pictures with our Uncle T! We love this guy.

Sweet girl I know I say it each week, but it is amazing how fast time is flying. I love all 12 lbs of you so much! (yes that's right, Daddy weighed you in at 12 lbs this weekend!) You are such a sweet baby, so full of life and curiosity. I love watching you grow.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday!!! This week we celebrated Daddy's 27th birthday. He is really getting to be an old man. Good news is, he absolutely adores his little girl. =) Daddy has been going to real estate classes and is almost finished! Soon he will have his real estate license and be able to sell houses. Here they are, Daddy and daughter.

Daddy took a half day on his birthday so he could spend lunch and the rest of the day at home with his girls. While Daddy was at work, Mommy and Grace had fun making a sign and taking pictures! There were so many good ones, so I included quite a few!

On Daddy's birthday we also went to the doctor to get Grace's 4 month check up, which included her shots! She weighed in at 11 lbs 7 oz and was 22.75 inches long. She is going to be a petite little thing. As I was always told as a child, great things come in little packages! Here she is a little fussy after her shots, those things hurt! Ouch! Good thing daddy was there to sleep on.
Singing happy birthday to Daddy with some friends. Notice the delicious ice cream cake Mommy got!
Okay, had to sneak in at least one picture of Mommy and her little girl! I love you all the stars in the sky times all the fishes in the sea!
Uncle Taylor and Mommy gave Grace a bath! Notice the SG which stands for "Super Grace". She is such a big girl now in the big tub!
Happy Valentine's Day! Grace and her best friend Caleb pose for some pictures! Can you say movie stars?? I think so! PS - getting 2 babies, when one is crawling, to stay still for a picture is much more challenging then you would think!

We love you little peanut. Each day we wake up thinking there is no possible way we could love you any more, and then as the day passes you find ways of filling our hearts with more love. I hope and pray that we can always be the parents that you need us to be.
